I have been using my Canon PowerShot S30 camera for a couple of years now. When I purchased it, I also purchased an extra generic rechargeable battery pack to go with it. At the time I figured I would save the money and name brands are not always better. Looking back on it, I wish I sould have spent the extra $25 and gotten a Canon battery. The generic battery only lasts about a 1/4 of the time that my Canon battery does. Also after a couple of years of use my Canon is still running strong while my generic battery barely lasts at all. I am now getting ready to purchase a second battery for my Canon for a family trip in September and I will only be purchasing a Canon brand battery.
THE BOTTOM LINE: If you are going to be cheap and a penny pincher, then you are going to get a cheap worthless battery. If you want a battery that will keep its charge and that you can count on, buy a Canon battery.

If you use AI focus along with an IS lens a lot make sure you buy about 4 of these if you plan to shoot for more than a few hours in a day without recharging. I can get about 1,000 pictures out of two when used with the Rebel XT and battery grip when I am not using AI focus. But with AI activated I have been left without any juice on several occasions. That is why I ordered two more of these, to make sure I can get 3-4 hours of AI focus shooting without having to recharge.

This battery is long-lasting! I own two of them for my Digital Rebel XT camera!
I also (until recently) had the Canon S50 camera and the battery did very well with it!
This battery seems to charge very fast too!
I think it is well-worth buying 2 of them, but the battery lasts so long that you can easily get by with only one!

With all the recent news about Chinese knockoffs of digital camera batteries, especially on Ebay, getting genuine Canon batteries is a priority for me. Why try to save a few dollars on an off-brand battey and risk burning up the expensive camera? Not worth it to me.
Plus the Canon batteries have the capacity and life-span that you expect.
Pay the extra amount so you don’t have to worry about damaging your camera.

I would highly recommend buying a Canon battery over an after-market brand. I have bought two non canon batteriesfor my powershot S30 and both failed to last as long as the original canon battery.

The battery will work fine for 2-3 seasons provided you keep it charged.
My kids have enjoyed these for years, A new battery will last most of the day, and I do have hills. By the third season the charge won’t hold very long.
The quickest way to ruin lead-acid batteries is to discharge them deeply and leave them stand “dead” for an extended period of time. When they discharge, there is a chemical change in the positive plates of the battery. They change from lead oxide when charged to lead sulfate when discharged. If they remain in the lead sulfate state for a few days, some part of the plate does not return to lead oxide when the battery is recharged. If the battery remains discharged longer, a greater amount of the positive plate will remain lead sulfate. The parts of the plates that become “sulfated” no longer store energy. Batteries that are deeply discharged, and then charged partially on a regular basis can fail in less than one year.

Using the stock battery in your new Powerwheels will ultimately lead to a large disappointment. The battery is a simple Sealed lead acid battery. The same kind as you find in a battery backup unit for your PC.
The stock battery will only last about 10 minutes of continuous level ground use. Start adding small hills and start/stops and it goes down even further.
Plus the charger that comes from Fisher Price is a joke too. There is no over-charge protection available, and if you forget about it while charging, you’ll ruin the $60 battery.
Do yourself a favor and buy an aftermarket battery for those Powerwheels. You can buy them at a much higher run-time as well, and this allows you to spend more time with the kids playing, rather than charging batteries.
You can buy a regular car charger for the new battery, and it will not only charge faster (2 hours compared to the stock 18 hour recharge time) but it will last longer since there is no chance of over-charging. You could buy the battery and charger for less than this stock battery with fisher price’s logo slapped on it.
Good luck, and be safe!

I have bought four of these batteries. I feel like a fool after reading so many bad reviews. Please look for an alternative. Out of the four batteries I have not gotten 20 hours of use. It is sad that a company as Fisher Price would sell such a mediocre product. The ride on is nice, please look for an alternative on replacing the batteries.

THIS WAS A BUST. I purchased this to replace the original battery that came with my daughter’s Barbie Jeep. The original battery lasted about 3 years and worked very well before running out of juice. I read several reviews that concerned me saying that the replacement battery went dead very very quickly. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me . . . I read and followed the instructions closely, in terms of how long to charge initially, and then subsequent charging as well. We got about 3 charges out of it, and that’s it. I ended up throwing away the Jeep, and I’m taking this battery and the original battery to the dump, where they have a station to recycle old batteries. Amazon cannot take this product back . . since it is a hazardous material (acid), but, kudos to them, they credited me the purchase right away. I don’t know what to tell you on this one . . . it could be the batteries they have are old shelf batteries; it could be something wrong with our Jeep itself. . . BUT . . . if it can happen to me (and others that I read about), then it can happen to you. We’re going to purchase an upgraded vehicle from here and not fool around with replacement batteries anymore. GOod luck.

This battery was great for about two charge cycles…I charged it 18 hours the first time like the instructions said to do. Jeep ran great for about the expected two hours or so…Charged it again that night for 14 hours…ran great again…The third day, I charged it for 14 hours again and hooked it up to the jeep and NOTHING …I followed all of the instructions to a T. What a piece of JUNK. Power Wheels should be ashamed of themselves for selling such an awful product and doing nothing about it.
I received the Flip UltraHD as a gift recently, so I will share what I have learned so far. It has 2 hours of recording time, I have not maxed out the time between downloading it to the computer. Downloading is easy, just pop the built in plug into a USB slot and you are good to go, no cord to look for. It also has a HDMI output so you can hook it up to a high definition TV. Now having said that, the camera only has a 2x zoom, and using the zoom at all does deteriorate the picture. For me, I use the camera for filming family around the house, but if I filmed my sons football game, I would use a camera with a real zoom. This Flip is for the close up every day life you want to preserve. It has a decent size screen built in, larger than the screen on the first Flip which my friend has, and the size of the unit is large. In my case, the picture did not look that different. If I was buying one for myself, I would take a look to see if the first Flip is cheaper, abut I hear it uses the battery faster. The one I have has a rechargable battery, but you can also pop in AA batteries if you prefer. My digital still camera uses those special disposable camera batteries, and they are a rip-off at $15 and don’t seem to last but a few weeks. But it is still small enough to fit in my back pocket. Using the device is pretty intuitive, not an overload of controls and buttons, and any kid could operate it. For the size and the price, I think it is a pretty good gadget. But I can imagine in two years what they will have.
